This is a list of projects that I need/hope/plan to undertake.  I’ll try to keep this updated as I come upon more and as I finish them.  Each one may bulge out into its own post as I engage the project.

Sink Cupboard Door – The door of the cupboard below the kitchen sink has a loose hinge that could need simple tightening or, more likely, has a stripped screw that needs to be re-seated.  I have no idea how to do this.

Front Porch Gutter Connection – the gutter on the front porch had a little s-curved pvc pipe section connecting it to the downspout.  This fell out and needs to be put back or replaced.  I’d prefer to do the latter, as the former seems like it would require about 5 pounds of caulk.

Hang Spice Rack – I’d put this in the category of getting set up, not maintenance.  I need to figure out the best way to hang the spice  rack.  I could just drive some plastic anchors into the wall and use screws, but the hangers would be visible, so I’d prefer to find a more elegant method.

Hang Bathroom Cabinet – This is a wall anchor job.

Hang shelves -  More shelves–this time in my office.  In Wifey’s office we used cheap metal brackets (decorative metal brackets are amazingly expensive for what they do!).  I’ll likely do the same in mine, but am wondering if those metal, adjustable ones on rails might be a better option.  This Old House doesn’t even acknowledge anything else.

Basement Stairs Window – The house inspector identified this window, which sits at the floor level of  the landing on the basement stairwell, as a hazard.  If someone fell down the first part of the basement steps they could put a limb out that window.  I need to put a piece of plexiglass over the glass part so that the unsteady bounce off as they tumble down the stairwell.

Basement steps – one of the steps is loose, so that if you step on it at one end, the other shoots up like a catapult.  Not quite sure how to fix this, but some kind of angled bracket should do the trick.

New Outlets – We want to get an electrician in to add some  outlets here and there.  The bedroom has a single outlet, so we need more there, and while we are at it we want to add still more.  We’ll probably also get some wall sconces as part of this project.  This is a bigger project than the others on the list, not maintenance, and involves a contractor, which is a new thing.

Fix Outlets – The inspector identified a handful of broken and/or reverse polarity outlets.  We want to get these taken care of.
